FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

REALTORS® Team Up With Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity House to be Built in Central Islip

June 7, 2005 - West Babylon, NY - Members of the Long Island Board of REALTORS®, Inc.(LIBOR) will be working shoulder to shoulder on Friday, June 10th beginning at 9 a.m. RAISING THE WALLS on the 2005 REALTOR® sponsored Habitat for Humanity House. The Habitat House is located at 240 Leaf Avenue in Central Islip, New York. This project is in cooperation with the New York State Association of REALTORS® (NYSAR) which is marking its 100th Anniversary this year by partnering with local Realtor Associations in Habitat projects throughout the State of New York.

The Long Island Board of REALTORS®, Inc. is a non-profit trade association consisting of over 23,000 local real estate professionals dedicated to making the American Dream come true for many Long Islanders. LIBOR is committed to sending over one hundred Realtor® volunteers to this work site over the next few months to work alongside the family that will eventually reside in the home.

Habitat for Humanity families are selected based on need, ability to make payments on the home, and willingness to spend time building the home. Candice and Timothy Fowler, together with sons Joshua and Caleb, have been chosen as the future homeowners of the 2005 Realtor® House. The Fowler Family is currently living in an attic that has been converted which has no sink or stove, and the child sleep under eaves in a room with no heat. The family will be required to invest 300 to 500 “sweat equity” hours by working with volunteers during the construction of the home.
