July 2007 - West Babylon, NY - The Long Island Board
of Realtors® (LIBOR) has donated over $13,000 to support The Hagedorn
Little Village School in Seaford during the past month. Funds
raised were a result of two philanthropic events that LIBOR coordinated. The
first event, which raised $7005, came from LIBOR’s 19th Annual
Education Conference and Trade Show. The Education Conference and
Trade Show is one of the largest combined Conference and Trade Shows
that takes place on Long Island with hundreds of Realtors in attendance. The
second donation of $6,000 was raised by the Queens Jamaica Central Chapter
during their Summertime Charity Dinner Dance in July. Both events
were coordinated by Realtor®, Moses Seuram.
The two checks were presented to the school during separate award ceremonies
in July. “We are very proud to be able to support the work
of The Hagedorn Little Village School towards improving the quality of
life for children with developmental disabilities and their families. Our
members know how important it is to provide family support services,
case management, residential programs and educational opportunities for
children with special needs. The Hagedorn Little Village School
has an excellent reputation of providing quality programs and services
to the community and we are very pleased to help them further their mission
and important work,” said Linda Bonarelli, LIBOR President.
The donation provided by LIBOR represents one of many initiatives from
the organization’s “We’re More Than Realtors” campaign
coordinated by LIBOR and their Public Relations Committee. The
campaign showcases the support real estate agents provide to the local
community and to not-for-profit and charitable organizations. “Realtors® are
more than just trained professionals selling homes and properties,” explained
Bonarelli. “We’re about building communities, supporting
our neighborhoods, and recognizing those people and organizations that
make our communities special places to live, work and play.”
The Long Island Board of Realtors® is a non-profit trade association
consisting of more than 26,000 real estate professionals. LIBOR
