LIBOR Names 2007 REALTOR®-Broker of the Year Dan Ryan, Sr.

December 2007 - West Babylon, NY - The Long Island Board of REALTORS®, Inc. (LIBOR) is pleased to announce that REALTOR®-Broker Dan Ryan, Sr. has been named the recipient of the prestigious REALTOR®-Broker of the Year award.  The announcement was made recently at the association’s Annual Installation and Awards Dinner held at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.

Dan Ryan, Sr. joined LIBOR in 1991 and is currently the Vice President of Sales and Manger of Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate in Massapequa Park and Rockville Centre.  He has been an active licensed real estate professional for 17 years.

Dan grew up in Woodside, Queens and worked in the financial district of Wall Street for 17 years, before embarking on his career in real estate.  He moved to Long Beach in the early 1990s and worked in two local real estate offices before opening his own office Ryan & Walis Realty, in 1997.

Dan quickly got involved with the Multiple Listing Service of Long Island™ (MLSLI) and has continued to be very active in the Broker community.  He has served on the MLS Board of Directors since 2001.  He served as MLS President in 2005, Nassau County Vice President in 2004 and Treasurer in 2003. With LIBOR, Dan currently serves as the 2007 Nassau Vice President.  He also serves as a New York Association of REALTORS® (NYSAR) Director since 2004.  Dan has served on numerous committees on the state level and on the local level at LIBOR and MLS.  He graduated from the New York State Association of REALTORS® Training Institute, and is a New York State approved Real Estate continuing education instructor working for LIBOR and other licensed schools. He is also a licensed Notary Public.
 
In the Long Beach community, Ryan & Walis was honored as the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce Merchant of the Year for 2002.  Ryan & Walis has been a proud sponsor of a Long Beach Little League team every year since they opened.  Dan is an avid golfer and is a member of Middle Bay Country Club as well as the Treasurer of the Men’s Golf Club at Lido Beach.  Dan and his wife Katie reside in Island Park, they have three grown children and three grandchildren.
