Long Island Board of Realtors®, Inc. Donates
$15,000
to Rebuilding Together Long Island
The Long Island Board of Realtors, Inc. (LIBOR) has donated $15,000 to
assist the Long Island Chapter of Rebuilding Together in their mission
to help rebuild the homes and lives of people in need. The check was presented
by Gil Picard, President of the Long Island Board of Realtors®, Inc.,
Frank Urso and Christina Cidoni, LIBOR Public Relations Committee Chairperson
and Vice Chairperson respectively, to Sol Goldstein, President of Rebuilding
Together Long Island during the recent LIBOR 18th Annual Education Conference
and Trade Show. The education conference, the largest in LIBOR history,
was attended by over 700 Realtors®. “The Long Island Board of
Realtors® is very proud to be able to support the great work of Rebuilding
Together Long Island,” said Gil Picard. “We’re more
than Realtors®. Our members know how important it is to be able to
have our senior citizens, disabled residents and single parent families
remain in their own homes, despite hardships they might encounter. The
generous work of Rebuilding Together Long Island allows these homeowners
to remain in their own homes in a safe and healthy environment and we
support the efforts to ensure that takes place,” added Picard.
Rebuilding Together Long Island is dedicated to restoring the homes of
economically disadvantaged homeowners who are elderly, disabled, and/or
single-parent families, so they may continue to live in comfort with dignity
and independence. Their committed staff of 300 volunteers is the backbone
of the organization. According to Sol Goldstein, “The generous contribution
by LIBOR enables us to continue our efforts and help people in need. We
provide a wide range of services which include plumbing and electrical
repairs, yard work, gutter cleaning, carpentry, roof repair, trash removal,
non cosmetic painting, lock work, smoke detector installation and the
construction of wheel chair ramps. We are especially proud of our proficiency
in building these ramps, which enable those people that are home-bound
to enjoy their renewed freedom. All of the services of Rebuilding Long
Island Together are provided at no cost to the homeowner thanks to generous
contributions such as the one we have received from the Long Island Board
of Realtors®.”
