FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Long Island Board of Realtors, Inc. Partners
with Ronald McDonald House to Support the “House That Love Built”
For Gil Picard, President and Marian Fraker-Gutin, Past President of
the Long Island Board of Realtors®, Inc. (LIBOR) and the LIBOR membership,
selling homes is their business. But LIBOR members are “more than
Realtors®” -- especially when it comes to the Ronald McDonald
House of Long Island in New Hyde Park. “The House That Love Built”
just received a big hug from Realtors® as LIBOR announced its partnership
with Ronald McDonald House to support the nonprofit organization here
on Long Island for the upcoming year. The announcement was made at the
recent Board of Realtors 18th Annual Educational Conference and Trade
Show which was attended by over 700 Realtors® from Long Island, the
largest conference held by LIBOR to date.
In addition to the partnership announcement, Ronald McDonald House was
chosen as the recipient of all donations raised at the conference. “We
are very grateful and appreciative for the ongoing support our program
continues to receive from LIBOR and its members,” said Silvana Gullo,
Executive Director, Ronald McDonald House of Long Island. “The support
we receive from Realtors® here on Long Island means so much to the
children and families that rely upon our services in their time of need,”
added Gullo.
Ronald McDonald House is a home-away-from-home for families of seriously
ill children undergoing critical medical treatment in area hospitals.
A two-minute walk from Schneider Children's Hospital, the House provides
a comfortable and supportive environment, helping families through their
most difficult time. The Long Island Board of Realtors®, Inc. has
a number of fundraising events planned that members throughout Long Island,
from Riverhead to Queens, will be hosting in the upcoming months. Gil
Picard says that he expects the relationship between Ronald McDonald House
and LIBOR to continue and to grow as more Realtors® become aware of
all that Ronald McDonald House brings to the communities between Manhattan
and Montauk and throughout the world. “Although the Ronald McDonald
House is not directly related to our industry, the chemistry between this
charity and the real estate community is one filled with energy and passion
and as we foster this relationship both organizations will reap positive
results,” added Picard.
